His holiness
Shah Satnam Singh Ji descended from eternal abode on jan. 25,1919 in the blessed
village of Sri Jalalana Sahib in Haryana, India. His father
was Vareyam Singh Ji and mother was Mata Aas Kaur Ji. Both his
parents were of a religious nature and were pious souls. His holiness steered lakhs of people away from non-vegetarianism, alcoholism, using intoxicants, and committing adultery. His holiness extended the ashrams
|
| that were constructed by Shah Mastana Ji and also built a new ashram in the village of Barnawa in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. His holiness wrote 20 books and composed 1,500 songs of devotion and qawwalis that are so effective and the language of which is so simple that even a child can grasp the meanings. | ||
His holiness implemented the desire of Shah Mastana Ji and performed the marriages of the young men and women of the families of Dera followers at the Dera itself, thus establishing a new healthy tradition. The marriages here are held in a very simple manner without resorting to superstitions, empty rituals, extravagant spending, or the giving and taking of dowry. This custom of simple marriages is followed even today at the ashram. |
